Huawei Ready to Take on the Competition with Honor 5X

Honor 5X 2

The Honor 5X is a sleek affordable indulgence.

If you are searching for an affordable smartphone, look no further than Huawei’s Honor 5X.
At $199 this is a smartphone that appeals to anyone looking for a fantastic deal or is rebounding from financial problems. Even though the phone is cheap, it looks extremely classy. It sports a brushed metal back & an extremely thin body. Judging by its sexy style you would never guess that this phone only costs 200 bucks.

Even though the Honor 5X’s features are less impressive than its looks, it still holds its ground. The Honor 5X is powered by a Qualcomm 600 series SoC & boasts a Lollipop setup. It supports AT&T & T-Mobile Cat 4 150/50 LTE technology, as well as AT&T’s brand new Band 12 LTE frequency. It has a 13 MP rear camera with a single LED flash. Another cool feature is it’s thumbprint reader & surprisingly loud speakers. The Honor 5X’s 3000mAh batteries give you an impressive battery life & its 5.5” screen vibrantly comes to life with 1080×1920 resolution. With dual SIM card slots you are ready to add as much memory as you need.

Honor 5X 3

By far the neatest thing about this phone is its looks & price.

Hands down our biggest complaint about the Huawei Honor 5X is its 2GB of RAM. This reduced capacity makes multitasking on the phone extremely difficult. If you are a fan of running multiple apps you may want to think twice about this phone. You can easily use a few apps at a time but you will run into trouble if you want to use more. Another complaint is the camera. While it does have 13MP, it lacks the focusing laser diode & extra LED flash that its competitors proudly sport. While these are legitimate complaints you have to remember that this is a budget phone.

For an extremely cheap smartphone Huawei did an impressive job with the Honor 5X. They successfully gave us an affordable option in a market filled with expensive smartphones. While its features leave a little to be desired, it’s definitely a step in the right direction. This is a good looking phone that’s perfect for anyone who is watching their budget. Huawei has proven that you don’t need to spend $700 to get a decent smartphone. The Honor 5X shows that they are ready to compete with Samsung & LG for the US market. It will be exciting to see what they come up with next.
